Breast Feeding Yes'!

One of my favorite things about Kaylee being an infant was the bonding that I got to do with her while breast feeding.
I did have a rough start but I got to breast feed for 11 months before she decided that she wanted people food.
Thinking back, I remember that there were a few choice things that made my breast feeding life a whole lot easier and I want to share it with you.

First and foremost, Lansinoh. It's an amazing cream that helps with the soreness and chafing.

It really helped me out.
(Another thing that helped me was tea bags. I know it sounds strange but I used some warm tea bags and they worked miracles. Really!)

The next two things helped me immensely. Especially when I needed to feed baby girl in public or around people who weren't comfortable.
Nursing bra's and Tanks.
They only open up enough for the baby to latch and mostly everything else is covered.

They also supplied comfort.

Along with the tanks and bra's I recommend nursing pads. There are disposable and reusable. I was not completely educated when I had My Kaylee so I used disposable but I have read wonderful things about reusable and I will be using them with my next baby.

Another thing that I was not privy to 5 years ago was an udder cover. I am not shy about breast feeding and I didn't like covering my baby's head. Not everyone is that comfortable and there are times when it has to be done so these will not only come in handy but they come in a lot of patterns and colors. For you crafty & frugal mommy's, these look incredibly easy to make.

The next product was probably my favorite 'breast feeding accessory. Ever.
It not only helped with the ease of breast feeding but it also afforded me some freedom and comfort.
I had a c-section and having a Boppy pillow make recovery a little more comfortable.
It was able to read while I breast fed because Kaylee fit so comfortably on it. They don't cost much and were defiantly worth the investment.
It also has a Daddy bonus if Daddy is a gamer.
Put it around your waist, let the little angle fall asleep and game away!
I LOVED my glider. It was my favorite place in the house for my c-section and recovery. I know they are a bit on the expensive side but I would try to look at second hand stores to get a good deal. Even if the pattern is wrong or the paint is chipping, it will give you a project.
I also recommend some books, magazines and a good TV show to help pass the time. You could also just spend the whole time looking down at that beautiful baby face :-)

On of the things that did NOT work for me were the shields.
They were bulky, uncomfortable and did nothing for me personally.

I hope you find this helpful. Feel free to leave me comments about what worked and didn't work for you.

*Keep your fairy tale, I'll write my own.*
