Pack Your Bags.

Please Mommy's, pack your hospital bags!
I suggest a month in advance that way you know it's ready to go.
You can always add more stuff to them as time goes on.

I packed 2 bags. One for me and one for baby.
A tip: Pack the baby's things in his/her diaper bag.

Please be aware of what you're taking and only take things that you wouldn't mind ruining.
Over packing can make the bags way to heavy and be a hassle to pack up and bring home.

Here are my suggestions for what to pack.

Mommy Bag
The hospital paper work and insurance information
Warm Robe or a sweater
Maternity Bras
Nursing Pads
Personal Items like:
Hairbrush
Toothbrush
Toothpaste
Shampoo/Conditioner
Deodorant
*Travel items would work great*
Hairbands
A few pair of non skid socks
Camera & Extra batteries
Cell Phone / Charger
Pillow
Chap-stick
Towel
Underwear
Nightgowns if you don't want to wear the hospital ones
An outfit to go home in
A little make up is also good to bring so you feel a little better about those first pictures

Baby Bag
Coming Home Outfit
Socks
Hat
Blankets
3-4 Onsies
(I preferred that Kaylee wore what I brought rather than the hospital clothes)
Seasonably appropriate Outside ware

You may also want to consider packing an extra change of clothes and deodorant for Daddy and an empty gym bag.
The Gym bag is especially important if you're keeping the sex of your baby a secret.
People will bring lots of gifts and you'll need a way to get them home.

Just as the last blog, these are my personal opinions and PLEASE feel free to comment and let me know what worked and what didn't work for you.

  1. You hit the nail on the head pretty much dead on. I would add some comfy clothes for mommy. The one thing I wanted was a shower and to get in something normal. So I packed a pair or two of comfy pajamas. If you have other kids pack a little care package for them crayons play dough small toys something for them to play with while visiting. Magazines/books/computer/etc something to do while little one is sleeping or little one is off getting tests done. I know we should be sleeping but as most moms know we do not sleep when they do all the time hahah. For new edition I would say to also bring vaseline/ protelium jelly. I put it on their little butts when I change the first diaper because the first poop is like tar and you are still so worreid about breaking then that it helps ALOT!
