And everybody wants to fall in love In cinematic fashion I don't, I don't

I was listening to Cady Groves' song
today and there is a line that I have always loved but it struck inspiration inside me today.
"Everybody wants to fall in love in a cinematic fashion."
How true that is.
Why do we all (even me sometimes) aspire to have a love like we see on TV and in the movies?
It's just not real.
Isn't that why we watch TV and go to the movies?
To escape reality sometimes?
Why is it that we want something that's not real?
Personally I want whats real
What I can obtain.
Truth is love is a beautiful mess.
Sometimes it doesn't work out.
People do fight.
People do break up and stay that way.
Sometimes the love is so epic and the story is so intense that
it has no choice but to end.
Romance is real.
Holding each other after a fight,
it does happen.
BUT: Sometimes someone has to sleep on the couch.
Not every guy is going to stand outside your window with a boom box
(or to catch up with the times an Ipod w/docking station)
confessing his undying love for you.
Sometimes, its just in his kiss.
Or in the way he looks at you.
Not every girl is going to sit in her room and pine for the boy who broke her.
Love beings.
Sometimes it ends.
Facts.
Not a Disney movie or a tv show.
As someone so plainly put it last night,
"Keep your fairy tale, I write my own story."

  1. :) That's why you have to make it your OWN fairytale. As I put it last night, MY fairytale. Something so simple as watching fireworks together or the amazing look of weakness in such a tough boy. Magical. You make your own magic. & I do. <3.
