Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides

My review on Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides

Thursday May 19, 2011 at 11:30 pm I enter the theater clad in my pirate costume. Soda and popcorn in hand heading to my seat. I joke with my friends and family while waiting for the previews to begin. At around 11:56 the manager of the theater enters and warns that use of our cell phones will win us a nice arrest record with the local police. He makes a joke about his name and how if you wanted to beat him up we could find him after the movie.

::Cue low light, previews and a cheering movie theater::

I wasn't really expecting great things from this movie. I mean honestly how many good movies can you make off one title before it becomes tired? Imagine my surprise when I found my self laughing and sitting on the edge of my seat. It was all the humor that you've come it expect from "Captin" Jack Sparrow and all the action that you would expect  a Pirates of the Caribbean movie. I even discovered that I enjoyed Penélope Cruz in this role. ( I don't often care for her ) I mean a movie containing disgruntled mermaids, a humors corpse and sword fights has got to be a good one. Right? There were a few dry spots and I was disappointed to see Caption Barbossa commanding a ship with white sails. All was made clear and even right by the end of the movie


 If you have not been to see this movie yet I would definitely recommend going. Expecially if you were a fan of the other three movies. If you do decide it's worth going to see please also decide that it's worth staying after the credits. True to the nature of the makers there is a little snip it after the credits are done rolling.
