I was sitting here on my break from slave labor (better known as adulthood) looking through my facebook (because I am a loser) and I realized something. There a few friends on here that I used to talk to every single day and now I can't remember the last time we spoke. I hadn't had any fights with these people. I don't dislike them and as far as I know they don't dislike me. We just...stopped talking.
I began to wonder why this happens to people. My conclusion? Every person we come across serves some kind of purpose in our lives. It could be the check out girl you smiled at because she seemed miserable. The guy who dropped all of his paperwork in the elevator at work and you helped him clean them up while you both laughed at this minor misfortune. The person you considered your best friend is now a mere acquaintance because you have served your purpose in each others lives for that moment. I don't think this means you love each other less I just think that it was time for those people to move aside and allow others to slip in and teach some different lessons or give a different experience.
It's sad but necessary I believe. So for all of you who this is happened to in my life I want to say thank you. Thank you for the memories, experiences and lessons. I hope the people who are now prominent in your life make you happy and are teaching you something you can hold on to <3
