My Kaylee had her last day of kindergarten yesterday.
It was very bittersweet.
I cried.
She had one of the best teachers that we could have hoped for.
Better than we ever imagined.
I am sad that unlike Mr. Feeney from Boy Meets World, Miss. Day will not be teaching Kaylee for the rest of her school days.
I worried all of last summer that she was going to get a teacher that was mean or not fit for her age group.
We were pleasantly surprised when we walked into a brightly decorated, Dr. Seuss classroom at the beginning of the year.
We were met with this teacher who was wonderfully cheery and very energetic.
She was organized, sweet and cared deeply for each and every student.
Kaylee even got a get well sticker sent home in her work when she had to miss a week of school due to illness.
Miss. Day's communication with parents was fantastic!
This was important to me because K's daddy and I are very much involved in her education.
There was a discipline system that allowed the children to know that they have done wrong with out making them feel bad about themselves.
She promoted friendship and understanding.
I didn't encounter one parent with a complaint or a child that didn't love her.
It's very sad to say that there are not a lot of teachers left like this out there.
Lord knows she didn't do it for the money.
I am very grateful that Kaylee got to start her education off in such a fantastic way.
I want to say, Thank you Miss. Day.
I wish there were more teachers like you.
You truly are what the education system should aspire to be.
