Questions and Their Answers

I asked my facebook friends to ask me some questions about pregnancy, breastfeeding and being a parent. I was not disappointed. Some questions were so awesome that I am making them into full blogs. I had a lot of fun doing this on so please, Enjoy :-)

Do you co sleep?

We did. I didn't plan on it. Kaylee started out sleeping in a bassinet next to the bed. When it was time for her to eat I would lay on my side to feed her and we'd end up falling asleep together. I started panicking that one of us was going to roll over on her so we got this 'bed' type thing that went in-between us that prevented us from rolling over on her.

Did you pump?

I tried. I couldn't get it to work. I don't know if it was the kind of pump or if I just was uneducated on how to get it to work.

How long did you breastfeed? How long do you plan to breastfeed this time?

I breastfeed for 11 1/2 months. I didn't intend on stopping until she was two but she stopped by herself.
This time I plan to breastfeed as long as I can.

Would you use a previously used pump?

I don't see a problem with someone using a previously used pump if its clean and in working order. With that said, I personally wouldn't use a previously used pump. I would rather buy one brand new one that way I know that I can replace it if there is a defect without having to put out more money.

Do you do natural child birth?

I am hoping to have a natural child birth this time around. I will not get an epidural if I can help it this time around. If I can avoid having a needle in my spine, I will. With Kaylee I had no choice but to have a c-section.

How can daddy's help with night time feedings?

Jeremy really didn't have the opportunity to help last time since Kaylee was mostly strictly breastfed. If I was able to pump any, I froze it in case we had to go somewhere without Kaylee.
This time around, I am hoping that I can pump so he and big sister can be a little more apart of the process.

How old was your baby before you went out with out her for the first time?

She was 6 months old. I know that seems like a long time but I really didn't want to go anywhere she couldn't be. It took a lot of convincing to get me out. I still called home 5 times.

My favorite and least favorite parts of being pregnant.

I think I will start with my least favorite parts. The biggest downside for me was being sick morning, noon and night. I am quite serious about this. I was sick almost my entire pregnancy. The only other thing that I can think of is being hot! I was big pregnant for most of the summer and I had to live in Antarctica. Any one who wanted to visit me the last 2 months of my pregnancy had to bring a hoodie and pants in order to be comfortable.

I had a lot of favorite parts of pregnancy. I loved hearing the heartbeat on the ultra sound. I adored feeling Kaylee kick me, and boy could she kick. I loved shopping. It was so amazing to feel the joy of life growing inside me. I really liked my cravings too because they weren't anything strange. The biggest ones for me were baked potatoes, sweet tea and watermelon. Other than being sick, I loved being pregnant.

What are the differences in my pregnancy's?

Well, I am still pretty early in this one but there are a few things that are different. This time I am not sick. I hope it stays that way, lol. Also this time I don't really 'feel pregnant'. Maybe I am just in shock that it's finally happened since I have wanted this for so long.
