Every week my family used to sit down and watch a show called 'Touched by an Angel'.
Every episode was good in it's own right. Some even made me shed a tear or two.
As I am sitting here though, I can not tell you what happened in most of the episodes with the exception of one; Psalm 151.
Here's a quick synopsis.
It's about a little boy named Petey who's nine, is suffering from cystic fibrosis. He realizes that he's going to die soon so he makes a list of things that he wants to do before he 'goes with the angels'.
One of the things on his list includes his mom finishing a song that she started when Petey was born. This song and episode stuck in my heart and when ever I hear it, I start to cry. In the episode Ashley ( the little boys mom played by Wynonna Judd ) that the reason she called it that is because when her son was born she couldn't in the 150 Psalms find one that conveyed how blessed she was feeling.
It made me cry then but as a mother it's worse. It's a beautiful tragedy in the way that a mother lost her son but they both knew that his suffering needed to end and that he was going to be in the arms of the Lord.
I strongly recommend watching the episode if you can find it. If you do, make sure you have tissues if you're anything like me. In the meantime, listen to this song and make sure you "Testify To Love"
