An UN-named Sonnet

Like the end of a sunset, we’re fading to black.

My earth shakes with fear while yours seemly remains UN-phased.

When did my smiles become burning tears?

I feel a chill in my soul and it’s not from the wintry air

 The pounding rain makes my heart thump.

Hard

And I’m reminded of a time when you used to do the same.

My tears fall; it seems as if in sync with the rain.

The thunder rolls through the eerie silence.

I am not sure this is helping my nightmare.

I bring my knees into my chest

It’s the only comfort that I have.

I check my phone, its 3 am.

You’re sound asleep

Tucked peacefully into our bed

I am alone

A tornado of thoughts swirling in my head

How could you be so painfully unaware?!

I just want to scream at you.

Instead, I rest my head on the window pane

And watch my world fall down like the rain.
